We’re working with leading and innovative leagues, sports rights holders, sports producers and distributors around the globe, and need to further strengthen our media sales team in North America to continue our fantastic journey transforming the industry.
The Opportunity
Your mission is to uncover new opportunities and close partnership deals in sports production with a diverse range of prospective customers - OTT’s, broadcasters, producers, leagues, federations, conferences and more. You will sell primarily into sports leagues and media companies working at tier 2 professional level and below. You will build strong relationships, negotiate strategically, and be a driving force for business growth.
As our Sales Director, you will be at the forefront of driving Spiideo's rapid expansion in the North American market including Canada and Mexico. Your responsibilities include:
- Strategic selling. First and foremost, this is a sales position. You’ll be tasked with achieving ambitious targets.
- Leading Market Expansion. You'll play a pivotal role in Spiideo's ambitious expansion strategy, with a primary focus on the North American market. Your expertise will be essential in building strong partnerships with prioritized strategic sports media accounts.
- Turning Ambition into Reality. We have ambitious plans for new business expansion, and you'll be at the helm, turning these plans into tangible results. You'll be hands-on, driving sales efforts towards markets, prioritized prospects, and key accounts.
- End-to-End Accountability. From identifying key customers to lead generation, engaging with top media and league executives, and driving the sales process from inception to deployment and growth, you'll have end-to-end accountability. This includes tailoring solution development to meet specific needs, ensuring thorough deployment, and securing continued growth.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration. In various stages of the sales process, you will collaborate closely with different functions and capabilities within Spiideo. Your ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams will be a key factor in your success.
- Networking: You’ll represent Spiideo in the market at key events and be responsible for building a solid network of contacts including executives at sports leagues, rights holders, and media companies. This network will be instrumental in generating leads and establishing partnerships opportunities.
What we are looking for:
- A passionate sales executive who can change the game. We seek a sales professional who understands the finesse of the hunt and knows when to press the attack like a skilled athlete on the field. Your ability to build genuine relationships with clients, understand their needs, and tailor solutions that in the end leads to new business is what we value.
- Experience matters. With a minimum of five to ten years of experience in similar roles in sales within the sports technology and/or sports media industries, you have the knowledge and expertise to hit the ground running. You understand the unique needs and challenges of sports leagues, rights holders, and media companies.
- Proven Success, Uncharted Heights: Your career trajectory has been marked by consistent success, consistently surpassing revenue targets. Your track record speaks for itself.
- Closing the Big Deals: You're not just a salesperson; you're a dealmaker. You have experience driving and closing large-scale deals that have made an impact on the industry.
- Master of the Craft: Your expertise in solution selling, business case calculations, and price- and contract negotiations is second to none. You know how to craft deals that benefit both our clients and our company.
- Connecting with the Top. You're comfortable interfacing and negotiating with CxO level clients. Your ability to connect at the highest levels is what sets you apart.

The ideal candidate would have:
- We're seeking a candidate who brings not just experience but a profound understanding of the sports media production and distribution market in North America.
- Understanding the intricacies of sports rights monetization is a key asset. You know how to transform sporting events into revenue streams, making each game more than just a spectacle but a profitable venture.
- You're not just a salesperson; you're also tech-savvy. Your grasp of production and distribution technology is essential. You understand the tools and platforms that are shaping the future of sports media.
- Your extensive network spans across the sports media spectrum, connecting you with OTT platforms, broadcasters, content producers, leagues, federations, conferences and data collectors. You know the key players, and they know you. Your connections are your greatest asset.
- Although not required, you have an understanding of the sports media landscape outside of the USA. Additional market knowledge in Canada and/or Mexico will be invaluable in driving our business forward, tapping into regional opportunities. Furthermore, the ability to speak both English and Spanish would be valued, making you versatile. These language skills will help us to build strong relationships with our partners and clients in Latin America.

Location
East Coast, preferably in the New York metropolitan area. Remote for now, but willing to commute into New York City (or nearby) should we open an office there. You will report to the Director of Media Sales, who is based in Los Angeles. You will work closely with our head office in Malmö, Sweden, in the CET time zone.
